One volume, in-8 (20 x 13 cm), comprising a frontispiece, VIII pp., 184 pp., (1) f., in a full contemporary binding in marbled calfskin. Smooth, richly decorated and gilt spine bearing the title in gilt, gilt fillet on the edges, red edges. Slight wear to the joints at the foot of the spine and on the joint of the second cover at the top of the spine; rubbed corners. First edition of this book, which is an epic poem recounting Christopher Columbus’s discovery of America. It is illustrated with a portrait, a fleur-de-lis on the title page, 10 engravings by Chedel and 10 tailpieces by Tarsis.
