LE GRAND D’AUSSY. A JOURNEY THROUGH AUVERGNE. PARIS, Eugène ONFROY, 1788. One volume, in-8 (21 x 13 cm), comprising XII pp. and 555 pp., in a full contemporary binding in grained calfskin. Smooth, decorated and gilt spine bearing the title in gilt on a tan label, fine gilt lace around the covers, marbled edges. Upper cap missing, corners rubbed, two skin patches. A fairly rare first edition, illustrated with a panoramic view of the town of Clermont and the surrounding volcanoes. At the very end of the book, the author provides itineraries for walks and explorations.
