Two parts in one volume, large 8vo (22 x 14.5 cm), comprising VIII pp., followed by 9 to 141, (2) pp., title page, X pp., 102 pp., in a full contemporary binding in grained calfskin. Smooth, richly decorated and gilt spine bearing the titles on two pieces of havana morocco leather, triple gilt fillet around the covers, interior decorated and gilt, gilt edges. Corners very slightly rubbed, traces of worm damage at the top of the front cover, foxing only on the second title page.

Les Jardins (1782) features a vignette by Laurent and an illustration by Cochin, engraved by Laurent (avant la lettre). This first part is printed on bluish paper (first printing).
*La Peinture* (1769) features an engraved title page with a portrait of Corneille by M. de St Aubin – three fine framed figures by Cochin, engraved by Prévost, Ponce and St Aubin – The third figure appears here in two states (first edition).
