GUYOT Georges Lucien (1885-1973) "Bronze with brown patina cast by Alexis Rudier. Height: 25 cm. Length: 61 cm and Width: 27 cm. Signed on the terrace "G. GUYOT" and stamped "Alexis RUDIER. Fondeur PARIS", circa 1920. This hitherto unknown work is certainly a unique sculpture by Guyot, like the polar bear, another famous unique work by Guyot cast by Alexis Rudier. Provenance: This work, acquired by a famous writer, has been preserved by his descendants. Georges Guyot was in vogue from the beginning of the 20th century. In 1931, he joined the Group of Twelve created by François Pompon. He worked in Picasso's studio at the Bateau-Lavoir, where he died on 31 December 1972. The RUDIER foundry, founded by Alexis Rudier (?-1897) and his son Eugène Rudier (1879-1952), worked for the great sculptors of its time, including Auguste Rodin, Antoine Bourdelle, Gustave Miklos and Aristide Maillol.
