Note:
These vases date from the Ruellands’ Parisian period. After discovering ceramics in Vallauris in 1950, Jacques and Dani Ruelland set up their studio on Rue de Buci in Paris. From the mid-1950s onwards, they developed their own distinctive style: simple or asymmetrical forms and, above all, glossy glazes in particularly intense colours such as orange, yellow, apple green, turquoise and red. They exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs from 1959 onwards, before leaving Paris for Les Angles, near Avignon, in 1970.
