Description
Mixed-media painting (drawing and watercolour). The scene is filled with human and animal figures. Clearly visible are oxen, horses (some with saddles) and a small group of sheep in the foreground. The setting suggests a traditional rural environment, with people interacting with one another and tending to the livestock. Dimensions including frame: 45 x 37 cm. Inner frame dimensions: 22 x 28 cm. The work features delicate lines, typical of watercolour or mixed media on paper, where pencil or ink drawing defines the forms whilst watercolour adds colour and atmosphere. The background landscape, barely outlined in soft tones, lends depth to the scene. In good condition. Signed lower left: Giorre Laroche 1912.
