Courteline (Georges Victor Marcel Moineau), Georges – Letter – 2 handwritten pages entitled ‘The Commissioner is a Good-Natured Man – The Comédie Française ’ – A 2-page draft letter in A4 format (acidic, brittle paper with damaged edges) entitled ‘Le Commissaire est bon enfant – La Comédie française’. The document is unsigned, but Courteline’s handwriting is very recognisable. In it, the author discusses the issue with Jules Lévy, co-author of the play, and the casting of roles for his play. ‘Mr Jules Lévy, who is so touchy when it comes to his rights over “Le Commissaire”, shows extraordinary brazenness when it is my rights that are at stake.
