A typewritten letter in A4 format, 14 lines long, with the Cardinal’s handwritten signature, in which he apologises for not having been present at General Touchon’s inauguration and promises to make amends upon his return. Pierre Gerlier (1880–1965) was a French cardinal, Archbishop of Lyon and Primate of Gaul, posthumously recognised as Righteous Among the Nations by the State of Israel.
