Kellermann, François-Cristophe (General of the Army – 1797) - Letter signed on letterhead of the General of the Army of the Alps and signed by Kellermann - Autograph letter of 2 pages (small folio) on the letterhead of the General of the Army of the Alps, with Kellermann’s handwritten signature, addressed to the Minister of War (Claude-Louis Petiet, in office from 8 February 1796 to 14 July 1797) dated 3 Germinal, Year 5 (23 March 1797), in which he reports the despicable conduct of the adjutant and the gendarmerie lieutenant stationed at Barcelonnette. Note: a very rare document concerning the Army of the Alps and Kellermann, who at this stage was still merely a General of the Army before later becoming Marshal of the Empire, Duke of Valmy and Peer of France.
