Lacretelle, Charles de (Jean-Charles-Dominique de Lacretelle, known as Lacretelle the Younger) – Autograph letter signed by Charles de Lacretelle and dated 15 September 1846 - Autograph letter signed by Charles de Lacretelle addressed to the Count of Audiffret (General of the Côte-d’Or) and dated by the travel postmark on this letter. 3 pages and 69 lines. A very beautiful, romantic letter addressed to his friend, ‘I thank you for your lovely verses and your devotion to the Muses [...] for my part, I have been working with redoubled zeal on my history and I hope to bring to a successful conclusion—I would even say with honour—an undertaking that is daunting for an octogenarian... ’ Note: The author was a French journalist and historian.
