Marriage of Richard Wagner to Cosima.
Certified copy of an extract from the register of the Evangelical Church of Lucerne, concerning the marriage in that church, on 25 August 1870, of Wilhelm Richard Wagner, widower of Minna Planer, to Franziska Cosima Liszt, daughter of Franz Liszt and the Countess d’Agoult, who had divorced Hans von Bülow on 18 July 1870.
Enclosed are: - a handwritten letter from Adolf von GROSS (manager of the Bayreuth Theatre), Bayreuth, 1 April 1893, concerning Countess Greffulhe, who is pressing Mrs Wagner to stage *Tristan* at the Paris Opera; - and a handwritten letter from the painter and engraver Rogelio de EGUSQUIZA, dated 8 March 1898, concerning *Parsifal* and his engravings inspired by Wagner’s work.
