China, Yunnan. 2 x 75 cl bottles. Packaging: original box. Vaud collection The estate was established in the foothills of the Himalayas in northern Yunnan. Tibetan farmers cultivate the Ao Yun vineyard across more than 300 micro-plots totalling 27.7 hectares, spread across four villages – Adong, Shuori, Sinong and Xidang – situated at altitudes of between 2,200 and 2,600 metres. This is only the beginning of the quest to reach new heights in winemaking. The first vintages produced, 2013 and 2014, reveal incredible potential, offering great promise for future vintages. They are inspired by the great Bordeaux wines, yet showcase this unique terroir. Ao Yun’s first two vintages, 2013 and 2014, are composed of 90 per cent Cabernet Sauvignon and 10 per cent Cabernet Franc. Ao Yun produces an elegant, distinctive and highly charismatic wine, crafted entirely by hand.
