According to this record, the work depicts motifs associated with the Ngaminya waterhole, situated south-west of the Kiwirrkurra community in Western Australia. A group of ancestral women set up camp there before continuing their journey to the Wirrulnga waterhole, east of Kiwirrkurra. The lines leading towards the centre depict strands of spun hair, used to make nyimparra, skirts worn during ceremonies associated with this territory; the other lines represent the surrounding dunes.
Alison Larry Nungurrayi is an Australian Aboriginal artist belonging to the Pintupi language group.
