Babar

Babar has a large family and friends who make up a small, colourful world. First there's the kind and caring old lady who welcomed him into her home when he arrived in town after the tragic death of his mother, killed by a hunter, and who bought him his elegant green suit. A little later, in the great forest full of monkeys and birds from which he had set off, at the end of a beautiful ceremony attended by the elephants and all the other inhabitants, his cousin Céleste became his wife and was crowned queen. She has a little brother, Arthur, who loves playing pranks and having fun with the monkey Zéphir. They are both very good musicians. General Cornelius is the oldest of the elephants and a wise man; on special occasions, he wears a beautiful uniform with three stars embroidered on the sleeves. Babar and Céleste are happy parents. They have four children: triplets Alexandre, Flore and Pom; and Isabelle, the youngest, who is much more mischievous than her brothers and sister. They live in Célesteville, a town on the edge of a large lake where ducks and pelicans swim, and where Babar likes to sail on a small sailing boat.
