Tintin in the Land of the Soviets
Silkscreen print produced in 1981 for WWF Belgium using plate 9 from this album. Limited edition of 50 copies. Signed. 99.5 x 68.5 cm.
Tintin and Snowy are on their way to Moscow, the capital of the brand new Soviet Russia, which is so frightening to the Western world. What could be going on behind the walls of the Kremlin? The report assigned to them by the management of Le Petit Vingtième could prove perilous... Before that, they had to make a stopover in Berlin. But it didn't go so well: an agent of the Soviet secret police, whose orders it was to neutralise this "dirty little bourgeois", blew up the train on which the Petit Vingtième reporter was travelling. Although he barely escaped with his life, he was arrested by rather stubborn German police officers who did not believe in his innocence. He managed to escape, and then borrowed that big Mercedes from the Germans who were chasing him. "Not very clever," says Snowy. Of course, he's right, but they're rather stubborn: now a plane is bombing them! And to think this adventure has only just begun... More surprises of the same kind await him a little further on, because the Bolsheviks don't want this troublesome reporter sticking his nose in their business - the Gepevou are keeping a very close eye on him, and will do everything in their power to get rid of him. Fortunately, after some incredible adventures, Tintin returns safely to Brussels, where he is greeted by a large and enthusiastic crowd at the station.
