We find the mystical pelican piercing its chest to feed its young with its blood (symbol of Christ's sacrifice, self-giving), it is surmounted by a red cross expressing Christ's Passion, the presence of the compass refers to its Masonic influence, the crown set with green stones symbolises hope.
