Ivory okimono, Japan, Meiji period (1868-1912) Representing a travelling merchant of taiko and masks for the matsuri. The drums are inlaid with red lacquer or mother-of-pearl. Under the terrace a signature engraved in a red lacquer cartouche 利正 Toshimasa. H. 15.5 cm - PN. 241 g (broken tambourine attachment) A CITES permit, valid for the movement of the item within the EU only, will be given to the buyer.
