Ivory okimono, Japan, Meiji period (1868-1912) Depicting a peasant holding in his right hand a sagemono, probably a tobacco pouch while he supports against his left shoulder a child holding a turtle at the end of a rope. A signature is engraved under the terrace 正美 Masayoshi. H. 18.5 cm - PN. 347 g (two cracks on the underside) A CITES permit, valid for circulation within the EU only, will be given to the buyer.
