Description
A large cloisonné enamel on copper box with a turquoise blue background, China 19th-20th century The box is decorated on all sides. The lid features a dragon and a phoenix facing each other in polychrome enamel, symbols of the Emperor and Empress. The edges of both the lid and the base alternate between red and blue reserves decorated with floral motifs and butterflies, as well as swastika motifs in copper wire. The inner walls follow the same theme as the top and rims, but with a different colour palette. The underside is decorated with butterflies, rocks and flowering trees on a swastika background.
