Lot composed of : - an anthropomorphic vase representing a seated figure adorned with body paint ; - a ceremonial pendant vase, depicting a seated shaman with his mouth wide open, facing the sky; - a pedestal bowl decorated with geometric motifs. Brown terracotta with red slip and negative painted black decoration. Capuli culture, Carchi province, Ecuador 800 - 1500 AD H. 10 cm - D. 8 cm Condition: good. Small chip on the neck. H. 10 cm - W. 7 cm - D. 6 cm Condition: good. Damaged right eye. H. 9 cm - D. 11.5 cm Condition: chipped and missing foot. Provenance: - Former collection of Mr Claude Demarigny. Acquired in the 1960s. - Ader sale, Hôtel Drouot, 18 June 2013, lots 352 and 353.
