An amusing and rare collection of games from the late 19th and early 20th centuries (games of skill, puzzles, solitaire games, marbles, card and board games), preserved in its attractive original trunk. Paris, Mauclair-Dacier (MD) and Simonin-Cuny (S.C), CIRCA 1900. Wooden case covered in aubergine-coloured grained paper (270 x 400 x 100 mm), two brass clasps, gilded title and two leather straps on the lid, interior lined with red paper, containing 29 assorted games kept in their labelled boxes. 1 broken clasp, signs of wear with missing sections on the trunk and the game boxes, some of which have been repaired with adhesive tape. 3 incomplete games (2 ‘Le toton équilibre’ games missing the toton, one incomplete ‘Halma’ game), one ‘jeu du carré’ sealed with adhesive tape. Charming "Jeux Nouveaux" trunk containing 29 boxes of various games (games of skill, puzzles, solitaire games, marble games, card and board games), most published by Mauclair-Dacier (MD) and a few by Simonin-Cuny (S.C), two major game publishers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It also contains a set of game pieces for which the game itself is missing.
