[ATLAS]. RIZZI-ZANNONI (Giovanni). Geographical Atlas containing the World Map and the Four Continents, together with the various States of Europe, drawn up under the supervision of Mr Rizzi Zannoni.
A charming portable atlas of the world, entirely engraved and enhanced with contemporary colours.
Paris, published by Lattré Graveur, 1762.
Volume in-16 (87 x 126 mm), full black morocco, triple fillet binding on the covers with fleurons in the spandrels, smooth spine decorated with a red morocco patch and panels adorned with fleurons and foliage in small gilt filigree, single fillet on the edges, interior lace, all edges gilt, marbled paper endpapers. (Contemporary binding).
Frontispiece, 31 double-page plates.
Two corners slightly worn, some signs of handling, top joint rubbed. Discrete foxing.
Work entirely engraved in intaglio, opens with a lovely allegorical frontispiece, followed by 31 plates including an illustrated title page, a warning and 29 double-page maps mounted on tabs, numbered 1 to 27 with a map 10 bis and a map 24 bis.
The atlas contains two world maps and maps of Europe, Asia, Africa, America (2), the British Isles, Italy, European Russia, European Turkey, Poland, etc.
