BECKETT (Samuel). Watt. First French edition, printed in a run of 189 copies; this is one of the 97 first-print copies on Alfamousse (No. 53). Paris, Les Éditions de Minuit, 1968. In-8 (140x190 mm), paperback, cover printed in black and blue. 268 pages. Minor creases on the spine, slight creasing at the margins of the first few pages. First edition of the French translation, prepared by Ludovic and Agnès Janvier in collaboration with the author. The last novel written in English by Beckett, “a fascinating reflection on the limits of language, the failings of logic and the boundaries of reason” (publisher’s blurb). Limited edition of 189 copies, this being one of the first 97 copies on Alfamousse (No. 53). A very fine copy, largely uncut.
