Nasr'Eddine — or Nasreddine Hodja, depending on the source — is a legendary figure deeply rooted in the collective imagination of the Muslim world. Was he a slightly mad sage, or a wittily wise madman? No one really knows. Some say he lived in Turkey between 1208 and 1284, others place him in Iraq. One thing is certain, however: he is so famous that he has two graves, one in Turkey, the other in Algeria. From Marrakesh to Samarkand, from Kabul to the Caspian Sea, everyone knows Nasreddin — and everyone has a story to tell about him.
A superb copy.
