Quarto volume (32.8 x 25.2 cm), loose sheets in an illustrated and padded cream cover. Ochre cloth slipcase. 78 pp., [2] ff. Slight signs of wear on the slipcase. First edition. Limited edition of 174 copies, all on Arches vellum paper; this is one of those without a suite, numbered H.C. XVII, signed by the author and the artist. "Aux petits Agneaux" is an art book published in 1971, the result of a collaboration between Max Ernst (Surrealist and Dadaist artist) and Patrick Waldberg (art critic and Surrealist poet). It is a collection of 20 original lithographs by Max Ernst (including those on the cover and the proof sheet), accompanied by a poetic text by Waldberg. The book was produced by the Lucie Weill Gallery, one of the leading centres of modern art in the 1970s.
