Spine worn. A fine edition of this licentious novel by Henri de Régnier, illustrated with 64 compositions by Drésa, the pseudonym of André Saglio (1869–1929), including 21 original colour etchings (separate from the text), enhanced with watercolour and presented in brown frames, and 43 monochrome vignettes as headpieces and tailpieces. Limited edition of 250 copies on Rives vellum; this is one of 30 copies containing two additional states of the etchings, including the black state and the state with remarks (No. 21). A copy enriched with a fine autograph dedication signed by Henri de Régnier to Monsieur Jacques André on the half-title page, accompanied by an extract from the book copied in the author’s own hand. From the Jacques André library, with its fine bookplate featuring the motto "sans s'émouvoir" on a blank endpaper. A delightful copy, beautifully prepared by René Kieffer.
