Description
[LE FEBVRE (Isaac)]. A list of the churches situated within the city walls and outskirts of Lyon; with a detailed account of when and by whom they were founded. Lyon, Jean Jacquemetton, 1627. 8vo, plum-coloured morocco, Du Seuil-style decoration, decorated spine, interior lace, gilt edges (late 19th-century binding). A very rare first edition of this small work describing seventy-eight of the oldest churches in Lyon, parish by parish. The author signed the dedicatory epistle to Archdeacon Antoine de Gibertès with his own name. The work was reprinted in 1880 as part of the ‘Collection lyonnaise’.
