This collection of historical documents, devoted primarily to the Languedoc region, was co-authored by Léon Ménard (1706–1767), the historian of the city of Nîmes, and by Charles de Baschi, Marquis d’Aubais (1686–1777). The latter possessed a vast library particularly rich in manuscripts on the history of Languedoc, from which he drew the material for this work.
