[DUCROS (Jean-Antoine)]. Minutes of the boundary survey of the Canal du Midi. Montpellier, Jean Martel the Elder, 1786. 2 folio volumes, marbled sheepskin, decorated spine, variegated edges (contemporary binding). Rare first edition. These minutes detail, boundary marker by boundary marker, all the municipalities, aqueducts, docks, locks, bridges and watercourses crossed by the Canal du Midi. It was compiled by the engineer Jean-Antoine Ducros (1748–1814), Director of Public Works for the province of Languedoc, under the supervision of Jean-Jacques Duvidal, Marquis de Montferrier, General Syndic of the province. The two parts of the work have been brought together in the first volume. The second volume contains two documents on the same subject: Minutes of the requisitions and decisions relating to the demarcation of the Languedoc Canal. Montpellier, Martel, 1784. – Collection of documents relating to the deliberations of the Estates of Languedoc on 21 December 1767 concerning the connection of the Robine de Narbonne to the Canal de Communication des Mers.
