THOMAS (Édouard). A Historical and Picturesque Journey around the Thau Lagoon. This [Sète], Destrech; Montpellier, Boehm, 1846. Folio, red half-shagreen, gilt title on the front cover (contemporary binding). First edition of this rare illustrated album, featuring a chromolithographed title page, a map of the Thau Lagoon and 18 inset views of Sète, Agde, Balaruc-le-Vieux, Marseillan, Bouzigues, Mèze, etc., drawn and lithographed in two colours by Édouard Thomas. The author of the text, who remains anonymous, was a lawyer at the Royal Court of Montpellier. Scattered foxing, water stains and spots; binding slightly rubbed with two small losses at the bottom.
