CROISET (Jean). Exercises in Piety for Every Day of the Year. Lyon: Antoine Boudet, 1713–1720. 10 volumes (out of 12) in 20 in-12 volumes, red morocco, triple gilt fillet, spandrels with small ironwork, decorated spine, interior lace, gilt edges (contemporary binding). First edition of this devotional work comprising twelve volumes, one for each month of the year. The Exercises in Piety by the Jesuit Jean Croiset (1656–1738) were reprinted as late as the 19th century under the title *L’Année chrétienne*. An elegant, highly decorative copy in contemporary morocco leather, in which each volume has been divided into two slim volumes. From the library of the Marquis Aimé-Jacques de Poulhariez-Cavanac (1784–1836), a collector from Marseille, with an ex-libris. The months of January and March are missing (i.e. 4 vols.). Two damaged caps, a few wormholes, dark stains and minor defects to the bindings, rare foxing.
