DUHAMEL DU MONCEAU (Henri-Louis). A Treatise on the Cultivation of Land, according to the principles of Mr Tull of England. New, revised and expanded edition. Paris, H.-L. Guérin and L.-F. Delatour, 1753–1761. 6 volumes in-12, marbled calfskin, decorated spine, red edges (contemporary binding). The first major French work on agriculture since Olivier de Serres, adapted from the writings of the British agronomist Jethro Tull. The first two volumes are second editions and the remaining volumes are first editions. This copy is complete with the sixth volume, which is often missing. The set comprises 40 fold-out plates engraved in intaglio and a folded chart. Two split clamps, two trimmed caps, minor restorations. Kress, no. 5258 – Quérard, II, 636.
