Paris, the widow Lemercier, et al., 1735. 2 vols. – New Supplement. Paris, Jacques Vincent, et al., 1749. 2 vols. Set of 10 folio volumes, marbled calfskin, decorated spine, red edges (contemporary bindings). A new edition, complete with its supplements, of the famous historical dictionary by Moréri (1643–1680), which went through more than twenty printings between 1674 and 1759. This edition is adorned with a portrait of the author after J.-F. de Troy and a frontispiece title page engraved by Claude Duflos. Some signs of wear to the bindings, which differ between the Supplement and the New Supplement. Foxing and wormholes. Sold without return.
