Description
[ANGOUMOIS]. Two handwritten documents, signed and sealed with a wax seal. ▪ A handwritten document on parchment, dated Marcillac, 16 December 1316 (24 x 20 cm), bearing the notary Étienne Duc’s fine handwritten signature and a very fine brown wax seal bearing the coat of arms on a plain stem. Dispute between Hugues, the clerical provost of Aiguechave, and Guillaume, the lay provost, concerning half of the pastureland in the ‘leigue’ of Marcillac, for which homage was paid to the Lord of Faye. A very fine document in excellent condition. ▪ Handwritten document on parchment (20 x 26 cm), bearing a brown wax seal on a simple stem belonging to Count Hugues d’Angoulême. A ‘vidimus’ issued in 1333 for a deed dated 1277 concerning ownership of the right to collect half of the gifts and rent due in the castellany of Villebois (Villaboe), which the inhabitants wish to buy back from Count Hugues. The document is heavily discoloured.
