Description
[COMTAT VENAISSIN]. Notarial charter in Latin concerning the land of Piéblanc, in Caromb, dated Avignon, 17 October 1497. Manuscript on parchment (32 x 26.5 cm), adorned with a large initial and the notary’s handwritten signature. Jacob de Guischard, a labourer from Caromb, acknowledges that he holds, under the jurisdiction of Louis Merle (Meruli) of Avignon, a plot of land at the place known as Piéblanc (Podio Albo) at the foot of Mont Ventoux, subject to an annual rent of one florin. Folded down the centre, date written in ballpoint pen on the reverse.
