Description
CONDÉ (Prince of). Certificate of service in the Army of the Princes, dated 22 August 1814 and signed by Louis-Joseph de Bourbon (1736–1818), Prince of Condé. A printed and handwritten folio-sized document (30.5 x 40.5 cm) bearing a red wax seal. Certificate attesting that Maximilien Debar de Murat (1768–1827), born in Saint-Jean-des-Ollières, a former officer in the Viennois Regiment, who emigrated on 25 August 1791, ‘took part in the 1792 campaign with the army of King Louis XVI’s brother princes in the Auvergne coalition…’ Fold down the centre; coat of arms on the seal worn away; pinholes in the lower margin.
