Description
FORSYTH (William). Observations on the diseases, injuries and other defects of fruit and forest trees of all kinds. Paris, Théophile Barrois, 1791. In-8, grained calfskin, smooth decorated spine, marbled edges (contemporary binding). The first and only French edition of a short work published in English in the same year by the horticulturist William Forsyth (1737–1804), author of the excellent *Treatise on the Culture and Management of Fruit-Trees* (1802). It appears to be extremely rare. From the library of the Château de Cormes, with bookplate. Wormholes on the front cover. Pritzel, no. 2984.
