JOURDAIN (François-Xavier-Félix). A General Treatise on Hunting with Hounds and with Firearms. Paris, Audot, 1822. 2 volumes, in-8, olive half-basane, plain spine with decoration, plain edges (contemporary binding). The only edition of this very comprehensive hunting treatise, featuring 36 plates, including 16 mezzotint engravings by Susemihl, which make it ‘one of the most beautifully illustrated hunting books of that period’ (Thiébaud). The first volume contains 12 pp. of engraved fanfares. Spine uniformly faded, joints and caps rubbed, foxing and wormholes. Thiébaud, 522.
