Lyon, Durand and Perrin, 1824. 8vo, fawn calfskin, wide frieze of foliage and central plaque embossed, decorated spine, interior lace, marbled edges (Dauphin). An edition ‘far superior to all previous ones’ (Brunet), published by Claude Bréghot with a bibliographical note, extensive critical apparatus and a glossary.
According to Vandérem, only 120 copies were printed on vellum paper, to be distributed exclusively by subscription.
A very elegant contemporary binding by the Lyon-based bookbinder Pierre Dauphin.
