Second edition published by Pierre Coste, more complete than the first. This is one of the finest and most beautiful early editions of Montaigne’s Essays. It is adorned with a portrait engraved by Jacques Chéreau. A fine copy, well bound in its original binding. Caps trimmed, joints split, minor repair to the title pages of all three volumes.
