Universal French and Latin Dictionary, containing the meanings and definitions of words in both languages, together with their various usages, as well as the technical terms specific to each estate and profession. Nancy, Pierre Antoine, 1734. 5 folio volumes, brown calfskin, decorated spine, marbled edges (contemporary binding). The first Nancy edition of the famous Trévoux Dictionary, an essential reference work for the Age of Enlightenment. It was based on the third expanded edition, published in Paris in 1732.
Included: Supplement to the Universal French and Latin Dictionary. Paris, Compagnie des libraires associés, 1752. Folio, marbled sheepskin, decorated spine, red edges (contemporary binding).
