Description
DISTELMEYER (Cleophas). *Icones sanctorum in singulos anni dies, cum elogiis & in[dice] chronologico*. Augsburg, Moritz Mittnacht, 1610. Small 8vo, red morocco, decorated in the Du Seuil style, plain spine with longitudinal decoration, gilt edges (contemporary binding). A very rare first edition.
It is illustrated with a frontispiece title page and 48 copperplate engravings depicting the saints for the whole year.
A copy with narrow margins, missing one engraved plate (The Crucifixion); binding worn, title page scraped with losses (lined), foxing, minor worm damage and marginal repairs.
