Lot no. 39
Description
Silver flatware, single-flat pattern. 18th century Fermiers Généraux hallmarks. Jurisdiction of STRASBOURG. COLMAR circa 1775. Master goldsmith : Jean Adam II SCHRICK. Weight : 148g. Silverware made in COLMAR is rare due to the small number of silversmiths authorised to work in the town in the 18th century. The SCHRICK dynasty played a major role with Jean Adam II (1727-1791) and his brother André (1735-1801), both of whom succeeded their father Jean Adam I (1693-1765). The UNTERLINDEN Museum in Colmar displays around 15 pieces by these silversmiths.
