JEAN DESPRÉS (1889–1980) Modernist baluster vase flanked by two wings. Piece crafted in tin; the body of the vase has a smooth finish, whilst the overhanging wings are finished with broad hammering. 1930s. Signed ‘DESPRÉS’ with a point tool and bearing the Master Goldsmith’s (diamond-shaped) hallmark beneath the base. Height: 21.5 cm – Length: 11.5 cm Slight dents; deep scratches on one of the wings.
