Description
Jacob JENSEN (1926-2015) for Edition Bang & Olufsen, Denmark. MC30" enfilade HIFI storage unit. Rosewood and chromed metal. Circa 1960 - 1970. H: 63 cm; L: 86 cm; W: 40.5 cm. Born in 1926 in Copenhagen, Denmark, Jacob Jensen left school at the age of thirteen to train as an upholsterer. Bored, the young Jensen began experimenting with designs for everyday objects and enrolled at the Danish School of Arts and Crafts in the late 1940s. In 1951, he began working for Bernadotte & Bjørn, Denmark's first industrial design studio. There he designed utensils. Shortly after setting up his own studio in 1958, he began working for Bang & Olufsen, which over the three decades he designed for them became the leader in design and sound.
