Henri BARNOIN ( 1882-1940 ) "The arrow of Notre Dame in Paris seen from the place Maubert". Pastel signed lower right. And titled on the back, numbered "Barnoin 2". Probably the work exhibited under number 27 in the exhibition catalogue of the Société des Amis des Arts de Bordeaux, 8 February 1930, under the title "Place Maubert à Paris" with a second pastel "Thonniers à Concarneau, pastel". Period wood and gilded stucco frame retaining its engraved metal exhibition cartouche "Société des Amis des Arts de Bordeaux-Exposition 1930" testifying to the work's participation in this event. The frame is slightly damaged and missing, with one part glued back together. 55 x 46.3 cm
