Large mahogany veneered and marquetry cartel with rich ormolu ornamentation decorated with dolphins, scrolls, mascarons, foliage and putti, surmounted by a Poseidon supported by two dolphins, opening to a glass door decorated with silvered bronze, resting on four curved legs featuring a mermaid, a triton and chimeras. A suite of three dials, one with Roman and Arabic numerals, the second inscribed "Stike / Silent" and the third with seconds. The dial signed "Joseph Baker London". English work, early 19th century. Dimensions: 105 x 58 x 38 cm. Veneer chips and restorations.
