SAINT-CLEMENT, attributed to. Emile Gallé period.
Earthenware mantelpiece set comprising a large, dynamically shaped clock (H: 44, W: 32 cm) with a circular dial featuring Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic numerals for the minutes, signed ‘Bridoux Gerbéviller’, set within a fluted column adorned with flowers, knotted ribbons and a laurel garland in polychrome on a turquoise blue-green background with a marbled effect (textured finish on the front). A biscuit-ware group depicting three children warming themselves by a small wood fire (attached), at the base. Base with a carved plinth; and a pair of cassolettes on column-shaped pedestals with leaf-motif handles, each adorned with a panel decorated in shades of pink depicting a lakeside landscape (H: 23, W: 23 cm). Circa 1890/95.
A similar model of this clock is held at the Musée de l’École de Nancy.
