A black marble and gilded bronze cantilever clock with a circular white enamelled dial, signed ‘D’Etour, Paris’, featuring black Roman numerals for the hours and black Arabic numerals for the quarter-hours. It is surmounted by a stylised vase with scrolls of flowers and foliage and supported on two pilasters decorated with applied motifs of a lyre, a quiver and a scroll, themselves flanked on either side by gilded bronze columns, lidded pots with recessed rims. Oval base with four small feet. Rich ornamentation in chiselled gilded bronze (bead friezes, rosettes, bas-reliefs of putti and clouds). Restored. Missing glass, rear lunette, pendulum and key; bell added later. Late Louis XVI period. H: 50, W: 35, D: 10 cm.
