Description
After MARIN, Joseph-Charles (1759–1834). A languid bacchante reclining on an animal skin, with a tambourine, bunches of grapes and two putti. A substantial terracotta group (very minor repairs and chips). 19th century. H: 30, W: 43.5, D: 18 cm. Rectangular, ogee-shaped plinth in gilded carved wood (minor chips) in the Louis XVI style with fluting and rosary friezes, resting on four flattened ball feet. Total height of the ensemble: 37, W: 48.5, D: 23 cm.
